To meet the needs of EGRT (Enhanced Geothermal Response Tests), leakage detection and seepage monitoring, AP Sensing developed a specific GeoDTS solution. A hybrid sensor cable containing copper wires for heat dissipation is installed together with the borehole heat exchanger, to determine temperatures along the entire length.
Our specialized software calculates the depth-dependent thermal resistance, thereby providing a precise measure of the overall efficiency of geothermal drilling.
For monitoring dam infrastructures, fiber-optic sensing technology detects absolute temperature changes within the dam structure caused by seepages. In addition a heat-pulse method can be used to detect temperature differences. The copper wires in the hybrid cable are used to heat the sensor cable and identify zones with increased heat transport (another indication of seepage).
