AP Sensing Christmas Donation Provides Aid in Syria

At AP Sensing, we are dedicated to the wellbeing of others. Our asset-monitoring technology directly impacts the safety of human lives. We also strive to contribute to the protection of those that are vulnerable and most in need. This year’s Christmas donation supports a project in Northwest Syria. Our trusted partner CARE provides humanitarian aid to refugees and helps reduce the impact of COVID-19 on an already-impoverished population.

Northwest Syria has been faced with a major humanitarian crisis after nine years of war. In the last year, over 900,000 people have been displaced from their homes – largely women and children are most in need of humanitarian aid. In addition to this, the precarious situation in Syria is threatened by COVID-19. All COVID-19 cases in the country have come from densely populated regions, which is concerning due to the lack of medical care facilities, water, hygiene items, testing and space. This increases the risk of rapid spread and possible devastation across the population.

This CARE project in Syria was originally focused on providing aid to refugees – emergency accommodations, food packages, and important relief items. Now, due to the corona pandemic, it has been expanded to focus on emergency aid measures in the areas of water and hygiene.

In addition to the above survival aid measures, CARE is starting a large medical aid program alongside a local partner. The focus of the medical aid program is on maintaining and operating a large mother-child clinic, maintaining and operating an ambulance transport system, training and education for local midwives and paramedics, and setting up two additional health stations.

After a year that was challenging worldwide, AP Sensing is privileged to fund a portion of the efforts in Syria with our donation. Our donation goes directly into emergency accommodation and survival packages, hygiene packages and COVID-19 prevention measures.
