Your New Career

You become part of a global team developing distributed fiber optic sensing solutions that help optimize critical infrastructure, protect people, and safeguard the environment. Using fiber optic cables as continuous sensors, we combine advanced photonics, measurement technology, and modern software to deliver reliable real-time insights along pipelines, power cables, railways, and other assets. In this role, you contribute to solutions deployed worldwide, working in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary engineering environment that values technical rigor, long-term quality, and practical innovation.

Your Responsibilities

  • You also work on hardware-backed security mechanisms such as TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, measured boot chains, and cryptographically protected device identities.
  • You support the analysis, configuration, and validation of TPM-backed protection mechanisms for Linux systems.
  • You plan and perform authorized security testing on our own devices and laboratory environments to identify vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and attack paths early.
  • You develop reproducible test and attack scenarios, for example for boot processes, physical interfaces, USB devices, permissions, or update mechanisms.
  • You document security findings responsibly, assess their impact, and work with the team on effective hardening measures.

Your Profile

  • You are studying computer science, IT security, embedded systems, business informatics, or a related subject.
  • You have practical Linux fundamentals and are comfortable working in a shell.
  • You can read, adapt, and write simple Bash scripts.
  • You are interested in hardware-backed security, for example TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, UEFI, boot chains, cryptographic keys, or embedded security.
  • You are interested in offensive security work in a clearly authorized environment and want to understand how systems can be attacked in practice and subsequently hardened.
  • Familiarity with threat modeling, penetration testing, hardware security, USB, networking, or reverse engineering is a plus but not required.
  • Duration: 6 months, internship semester.
