Christmas Donation Provides Access to Education in Kenya

At the end of every year, AP Sensing donates to a project for those that are less fortunate. Our 2019 Christmas donation has been made through the CARE organization to improve the lives of children and adolescents in Nairobi, Kenya by providing access to education and vocational training.

Currently, these children live in the crowded Korogocho slums and the garbage dump of their community provides their main source of income. Many children work at the dump to support their families and few go to school. Instead, the dump exposes them to toxic fumes, poor hygiene, tainted food scraps and injuries. Petty crime, drugs, sexual violence, abuse and prostitution are commonplace in this area and often create a vicious cycle.

Our donation goes directly into funding the costs of the schools that the community has built to provide a future beyond the dump for the young people. Indirectly, the project also benefits the community through falling crime rates, job creation and the positive impact on the families of the children.

AP Sensing would like to thank all our customers and partners for another successful year that provided the means to donate to this worthy cause! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year.
